 Do
you have the desire to teach children yoga but aren't sure how to go
about it? If you are an educator, parent or yoga enthusiast and have
a love for children, this introductory workshop is for you. Learn the
fundamentals of teaching children yoga through the YogaKids philosophy
of Multiple Intelligences.
- Learn basic techniques for teaching children yoga from preschool
through high school.
- Learn about the
philosophy incorporating Harvard Professor Howard Gardners' theory
of Multiple Intelligences.
- Observe and participate in typical lessons taught at Heart Center
Yoga.
- Receive sample lesson plans that can be adapted to the classroom,
yoga studio or home.
- Future opportunities teaching children under the guidance of
co-directors Marlene Mikell and Ilene Sang.
- Receive a list of wonderful books, music and videos used to
enhance teaching method.
 Instructors
Ilene Sang and Marlene Mikell are co-directors of Heart Center Yoga
and are certified
facilitators and licensed Yoga for the Special Child™ therapists.
They have BAs in education and have had 22 years of experience between
them teaching children in Chicago public schools and Chicago area pre-schools.
